Sometimes you just have one of those weeks and the penultimate week of August 2014 was certainly one for me. It seemed to be a week of forgetting things, missing out on walks, weird questions and unreasonable, shouty people on the phone. Through it all the beauty of the walks I took get kept me going, along with some progress on my blue shed.

Quite a bit of 2014 was taken up with the problem of buying a new shed. You’d think it was a simple matter but, as always seems to happen to us, it turned out to be long winded and frustrating. After much debate, we chose our shed and ordered it. There was a bit of a wait for delivery but we were patient. It didn’t arrive though. The supplier was less than helpful. Apparently there had been quite a run on sheds and there was a delay. They promised to call back with a progress report. They didn’t. More than a month later the debacle continued. Summer 2014 was fast approaching and our garden shed was almost dead. The roof never really got over the gales and the wood was beginning to rot despite an annual coat of paint. To be honest it was more Commando’s shed than mine, filled with lawn mowers and other manly things and, as it was hidden away at the end of the garden behind the honeysuckle arch, I didn’t think about it too much.
