When CJ spotted the sign for Manor Farm Country Park he was surprised and delighted in equal measures.
“I can’t believe we walked so far,” he said.
“Only five miles,” I said, with a quick look at my Garmin, “less if it hadn’t been for the getting lost, and quicker if it hadn’t been for the mud.”
“I haven’t been here since I was really little. I think it was with school and I was about six.”

A Mother’s Day treat

Commamdo felt bad about me missing the Biggin Hill Spitfire flight on Saturday because he forgot to take his keys when he went running. The next day was Mother’s Day and he had a surprise up his sleeve to make it up to me. From the outset I knew he and CJ had something  planned other than the card, chilli chocolate and teddy bears CJ gave me when I got up. What it was though, was a mystery. The first Sunday in August 2013 and, as usual Commando was out on a run and I was cleaning the bathroom, washing clothes and pegging them on the line. When he came home we went to town, just for a mooch around. It’s something we do once in a while on a Sunday afternoon. Then Commando asked if I fancied a coffee in Tudor House.
