Hate is an ugly thing. It begets ugly things. The hate fuelled act that tore into the heart of Manchester last night could have happened anywhere in the world. It wasn’t the first such cowardly, senseless act and, sadly, it won’t be the last. This time it happened in Manchester. My heart goes out to this wonderful city and the people who live there.
You are so right. Thanks for reminding us what a beautiful city Manchester is.

You have to wonder what these people who do this kind of thing think they’re accomplishing. From what I’ve seen they’re just bringing the hatred of humanity down upon themselves.
It seems nowhere in the world is safe any more. My aunt and uncle form Toronto were on Westminster Bridge in London ten minutes before the attack there. As this latest atrocity was aimed at children and young people it somehow seems worse. What these people hope to achieve I really don’t know. I have many Muslim friends and know Islam, like all religions, considers murder a sin. It must be very difficult to be a Muslem in this world with these things being done, supposedly in the name of their God. Personally, I don’t believe the perpetrators are true Muslims any more than the IRA, who also bombed this country in my lifetime, were really Christians. Fundamentalists of any persuasion are just criminals and should be treated as such.
